It'd be nice to be able to set up a temporary feed that provides periodic updates in the lead up to some event and then self destructs. For example when you order a computer you could be given the address of a tracking feed which would provide regular progress updates and then self-destruct after successful delivery.

It should be possible for a feed to

  • flag itself as temporary - optionally predicting the date of its demise and
  • signal that it has terminated at some point

  • track orders until delivery
  • track event news until after the event
  • receive news about an upcoming software release
  • temporary podcast channel
